A number of fans have been in contact with the club to complain about the use of smoke bombs and pyrotechnics at both home and away games and the dangerous effects they cause

Liverpool Football Club would like to remind fans that smoke bombs, pyrotechnics or anything similar are illegal and any individual who is found taking these items to Anfield or any other stadium may face prosecution and a banning order.

The club has seen an increase in incidents involving flares and smoke bombs, most recently outside of Anfield stadium before kick-off at the Manchester City match. The use of such devices breaches ground safety regulations and poses serious risk of injury to fellow fans.

Whilst the club greatly appreciates the loyal support of its fan base, it will not back those individuals who choose to break the law and will support the police in obtaining a football banning order where appropriate.

The club is asking fans to arrive early at Anfield stadium for Sunday's match against Chelsea, kick-off 2.05pm BST.

With only two home games remaining, all the Reds' fixtures will be sold out and the club is asking fans to arrive at the stadium in good time.

The club is also reminding fans to be aware of counterfeit tickets. With demand for match tickets extremely high for the remaining home games, fans should be extra vigilant with tickets and only buy from authorised selling points. Please do not accept any ticket from a non-authorised seller.

The turnstiles at Anfield are electronic and therefore any unofficial or counterfeit tickets will be rejected automatically and won't be allowed entry to the ground.

All tickets purchased are ultimately the responsibility of the supporter whose name is on the ticket. Any breach of regulations may be subject to further investigation that could ultimately result in the club pursuing a ban for each person involved for future LFC games.
