Liverpool Ladies will begin their title defence with a home game against Manchester City on Thursday, April 17, with kick-off at 7.45pm BST.

Matt Beard's side will again play their home games for the 2014 season at the Halton Stadium, now known as the Select Security Stadium.

The Reds will then travel to face Beard's former side, Chelsea on Sunday, April 20, before the Continental Cup triple header sees matches against Everton (home), Sunderland (home) and Manchester City (away).

The re-start of the Women's Super League in June sees a mouth-watering tie against Arsenal Ladies at the Select Security Stadium on Saturday, June 28.

The season draws to a close with a repeat of last year's final game, as Bristol Academy visit the WSL champions on Sunday, October 12.

Liverpool will also be involved in the Champions League but those fixtures don't start until the finish of the Super League season.

Beard, is pleased to be able to begin the campaign at home and told Liverpoolfc.com: "I am delighted that we will begin the season at the Select Security Stadium, although it will be an extremely tough game against Manchester City.

"This will be a competitive season with all teams having strengthened their squads, so hopefully the fans can get behind us like last season."
