Brendan on Gerrard fitness latest
Brendan Rodgers has delivered an injury update on Steven Gerrard - and confirmed that the Liverpool skipper will face at least four weeks on the sidelines.
Gerrard pulled up with a hamstring problem during the Reds' 4-1 win over West Ham United on Saturday and was subsequently replaced by Lucas in the 56th minute of play.
Rodgers told Liverpoolfc.com: "Steven is, as reported, probably going to be up to about four weeks or so.
"So he'll go through an extensive treatment programme over the next numbers of weeks and hopefully we can get him back that little bit sooner.
"But certainly at this stage, it was a four to six-week injury and we'll see how we look with that."
The manager also offered an update on Jordan Henderson, who picked up a knock to his ankle following a challenge from West Ham's Kevin Nolan.
"Jordan trained so he's fine," said Rodgers. "It was just precautionary the last few days.
"It was a bad challenge that was made on him, but thankfully he's okay. But we'll see how he is tomorrow as well."
