Luis Suarez will join the stellar line-up at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after Uruguay booked their place at the tournament with a goalless stalemate against Jordan on Wednesday night.

The Liverpool No.7 played the whole 90 minutes at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo as his country dominated but could find no way beyond a stubborn visiting defence.

La Celeste entered the return fixture with an imposing advantage after thrashing their Asian opponents 5-0 in the first leg of their play-off seven days ago.

The 2010 semi-finalists' qualification was therefore secured with the 0-0 second-leg result.

Suarez follows club colleagues at Liverpool from Belgium, England, France, Ivory Coast and Nigeria in achieving passage to the competition, which begins on June 12, 2014.

The 26-year-old will now return to Merseyside ahead of the Reds' derby clash against rivals Everton this Saturday.
