Raheem Sterling netted twice as England thrashed San Marino 9-0 in a European Championship qualifier in Shrewsbury on Tuesday night.

Liverpool's No.31 netted his opener from close range and then produced a sweet lob over the goalkeeper for his second as Gareth Southgate's side produced a sparkling display.

On loan Jack Robinson also played the full game at left-back and almost added a tenth goal when he smashed an effort against the bar with two minutes to go.

Besides Sterling's double, also on the mark were Michael Keane, Thomas Ince, James Ward-Prowse, Danny Ings (2), Carl Jenkinson and Will Hughes.

The 9-0 margin set a new record score at this level.
