Are Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez the best strike partnership in the Barclays Premier League? For Reds defender Kolo Toure, there is simply no debate.

The forward duo both registered on the scoresheet during a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, just as they had six days previously against Sunderland.

Toure may only have been a teammate of theirs for a matter of months following his summer transfer, but the Ivorian has seen enough to declare the pair 'the best in the league'.

The 32-year-old commented: "I think they are top strikers. To have them is massive for us.

"They are the best pair in the league, definitely. They work well together, they respect each other and they are so strong up front.

"Suarez is a great player and that is why we wanted him to stay because he is a big striker and to have someone like him and Sturridge is important. Their job is to score goals."
