Fabio Aurelio believes a compact team performance and a ruthlessness in front of goal will be key if Liverpool are to beat Chelsea today.

The Brazilian is well aware of what it takes to win at Stamford Bridge having figured in the Reds' 1-0 successes there in 2008-09 and 2010-11.

Aurelio told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It is always a big test when big teams face each other. It's a big match and everyone expects those games to be difficult and hard - this is what we are expecting as well.

"We have to be as ready as possible and try to get the three points again as we did last season.

"It's very difficult. The whole team have to defend together. The defence must start with Suarez and the players that play up front.

"When the team is compact and all working together, we have shown we are very strong defensively. This is what we will try to do."

He added: "Everyone is seeing Chelsea as a very offensive team now, but at the same time they have been conceding.

"They didn't used to do that, so this gives you an opportunity to score goals - but you have to be conscious that you need to be very strong defensively to not concede and take your chances to score. This will be key."
