Charlie Adam believes Liverpool's seven-game unbeaten run is typical of the confidence within the squad - but insists no-one within the dressing room will be underestimating Swansea City this afternoon.

The Scotland midfielder claims there is a genuine belief amongst the Reds charges that they are capable of beating anyone when they step out onto the pitch, but knows the Swans will provide a stern test having impressed upon their return to the top flight.

"Since day one when I joined, there has been a buzz with the manager here and the players we've signed," Adam told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"We've just been unlucky at times in games. We've created a lot of chances, but maybe never took them. But that's what happens.

"We're confident going out in every game with the squad and the players we've got here that we can beat anybody on our day.

"Today will be the same, but we can't underestimate Swansea because they're a good side with good players."

Swansea will arrive at Anfield sitting in 10th position in the Barclays Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers's side have won plenty of acclaim for their passing style of football - but Adam feels it will be up to Liverpool to take the game to their opponents right from the off.

He said: "They're a good side. I've played against them a few times over the last few years. I think they've played the same way since (Roberto) Martinez was there. They keep playing with the same philosophy they've always done by passing it.

"Brendan Rodgers has come in and done a terrific job, so it's going to be a tough match.

"We found it tough against Norwich at home when maybe we should have killed the game off earlier, but that's the way it goes.

"Swansea will come to Anfield like I did with Blackpool last year - with nothing to lose and everything to gain. The onus is on us at home to try and go win the match and that's what we'll try and do.

"It's going to be difficult, but if we apply right and do what we're good at then hopefully we'll be alright."

Liverpool have drawn their last pair of home matches in the Barclays Premier League - but those results didn't tell the true story of two matches Kenny Dalglish's side dominated and carved out a succession of goalscoring opportunities.

However, having put both Stoke and West Brom to the sword in the last two outings, Adam is confident the Reds will continue to plunder the goals.

"We've created numerous chances in every game this season," he said. "You need a bit of luck in front of goal.

"The strikers have done extremely well with the goals they've got, but you can't score every week. There will be a game where we don't play well, but everything will go in for us - that's the way football goes.

"As long as we keep playing as well as we can and keep creating, I think the manager and staff will be happy."
