Jordan Henderson hailed the impact of Luis Suarez after the striker gave another virtuoso display in the 3-1 win over Bolton.

The No.14 opened the scoring with his first goal for the club before second-half efforts from substitute Martin Skrtel and fellow newcomer Charlie Adam moved the Reds to the top of the table.

However, it was the menacing performance of Suarez that was the talk of the terraces at full-time.

Reflecting upon his early strike, Henderson said: "It was good to get the goal, not only for me but for the team too. We worked hard from start to finish. We created some good chances and overall it was a good day."

Asked about the display of Suarez, he added: "His movement is brilliant. He is always looking to get in behind and he is a nightmare for defenders really."

Henderson's thoughts were echoed by Stewart Downing who admits that the former Ajax man is a joy to play with.

"We all know he is a top player," he said. "He creates things and scores goals. He's great for us because he always wants the ball. He's had a long summer but it doesn't seem to be affecting him."

Only a late consolation from Ivan Klasnic denied Liverpool the perfect day but Downing was more than happy with Kenny Dalglish's side's latest outing.

He added: "I think game by game it is getting better. That was a very good team performance. It would have been nice to have got a clean sheet but you can't have it all."
