Jose Enrique believes the inspiration of the Kop gives Liverpool players extra strength.

The Spaniard experienced Anfield as a home team player for the first time against Sunderland and felt the backing of his new fans lifted him both spiritually and physically.

"If you are a football person, you can't help being affected by Anfield," Enrique told LFC magazine.

"When you experience 'You'll Never Walk Alone' for the first time as a Liverpool player, you stand there and feel proud...it makes you feel stronger.

"The atmosphere here is very different to Spain because all of the stadiums here are full, always. When Spanish people come to Anfield for the first time, they are amazed because of the Kop...because of the singing."

Liverpool are the 25-year-old's sixth club and he feels his experiences at each of them has enhanced his life and career.

"Everywhere I have been in my life, I have taken something. From Celta Vigo (where he had a loan spell five years ago) I met my girlfriend. We are still together. Then from Newcastle, I developed a new skill by learning English. From here...from Liverpool...I hope to take away trophies."
