Academy Manager Steve Cooper took time out from Liverpool's Swiss U16 Cup preparations to wish another one of our teams in Switzerland 'good luck' as they get ready to defend their European crown today.

The Reds' Ability Counts squad will take part in the European Disabled football tournament on Saturday aiming to retain the title they won so emphatically in Zurich last year.

The two teams have been based in Ruggell this week and have spent time getting to know each other, with the Ability Counts lads cheering on the U16s during their three matches so far.

Cooper said: "We've had some fantastic days with them this week. They've been coming in the dressing room and wishing the boys good luck. It's so rewarding to be around a set of lads like that.

"Colin (McCall) is doing a great job looking after the lads with his staff and it's been a privilege to be around them.

"I'm sure with the positive outlook on life they have, they'll play on Saturday, enjoy themselves and do the club proud - which is what they're doing by the way they are conducting themselves out here."
