Liverpool Football Club is producing and delivering 650 meals to local vulnerable people, community groups and school hubs in Anfield.

LFC’s professional chefs are preparing the meals in the kitchens at Anfield to provide essential food to those who need it most, including 14 different community groups and two local school hubs in and around the Anfield area.

The meals, which are frozen after preparation to ensure freshness, provide a range of vegetarian and gluten-free options, including cajun chicken and chickpea rice, quorn and vegetable chilli and rice, sausage, mash, peas and gravy and gluten-free apple and custard crumble.

Forbes Duff, senior manager at Red Neighbours, said: “It’s so important that we continue to support our local community throughout these difficult times. We know that the current crisis is placing a financial strain on people and that many families are struggling without the provision of free school meals for their children.

“Staff from across the club are working together to provide this essential support and we are looking to continue to expand our volumes further to help even more people in our local communities.”
