James Milner was in Utah this week to launch the Liverpool FC International Academy Utah.
The Liverpool midfielder met aspiring players from locally-based teams at Utah Youth Soccer Association Field, oversaw drills and exercises, and shared his knowledge and experience of the game.
International Academies around the world aim to develop all participants through age and ability-appropriate coaching programmes, to enhance their life skills on and off the pitch.
There are active International Academies – which deliver an authentic and consistent LFC coaching curriculum – in nine states in the USA, with the programme in Utah the most recent.
“We’re excited to get Liverpool FC International Academy Utah under way,” said Wayne Scholes, chairman and CEO of LFC Utah.
“Ours is a local club that has a formal licensed affiliation with Liverpool Football Club, certain to change the paradigm of soccer in Utah by introducing local players to ‘The Liverpool Way’ – a set of principles anchored by ambition, commitment, dignity and unity.”
