West Bromwich Albion will pay tribute to the 96 victims of the Hillsborough tragedy and 'salute the courage and tenacity' of their families when Liverpool visit the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.

The club chose to wait until the Barclays Premier League fixture with the Reds to show its respect following last month’s conclusion of the inquests into the disaster of April 15, 1989.

The jury returned a determination of unlawful killing at the court in Warrington, after a 27-year struggle to establish the truth by the bereaved families, survivors and campaigners.

In the away section of the stadium, 96 blue seats have been replaced with the red of Liverpool – with each to remain unoccupied and carry the name of one of the victims.

West Brom captain Darren Fletcher and former Reds striker Rickie Lambert will also place a floral tribute in front of the travelling supporters shortly before kick-off.
