The Liverpool FC Foundation has delivered a two-day coach education workshop in Sweden as part of the United Nations’ Young Leadership Camp (YLC) programme.

The YLC invited 35 young people aged 18 – 25 years who have been identified as local youth leaders in there respected countries and saw participants travel from Namibia, Ghana, Nigeria, Lebanon, and South Africa to attend the workshop.

The annual two-day workshop which the Foundation has now supported for the past four years, included a classroom seminar each day followed by a practical session out on the pitch.

The aim of the workshop is to introduce football and basic skills to participants whilst encouraging physical activity and building confidence and self-esteem.

Head of the Liverpool FC Foundation, Andrea Cooper said: “We are proud to partner with proven youth development programmes such as the United Nations’ Young Leadership Camp (YLC) programme.

"The workshops offered young people a range of fantastic opportunities and the chance to develop valuable new skills and friendships.”
