Liverpool U23s hope to bounce back to winning ways when they host PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League International Cup at Prenton Park on Tuesday night.

Neil Critchley's side lost 3-1 at home to Swansea City on Friday and will hope to put that defeat behind them against the Dutch outfit in their final outing of 2017.

After a victory over Newcastle United and a defeat against Sparta Prague, the young Reds must beat PSV to stand any chance of reaching the quarter-finals of the competition.

There are six four-team groups in the Premier League International Cup, which feature two English sides and two of their European counterparts. The group winners and the two best runners-up will make the last eight.

View from the manager, Neil Critchley

"The Swansea game was probably our worst performance of the season. There were too many errors across the board.

"We need to be honest with ourselves and when we reflect on the game, we need to look at the things we must do better at, because there were too many of us off the mark.

"We've got to start the game a whole lot better, and that starts in our preparation, so the next few days are really important if we're to do that on Tuesday.

"It's a great game for us because we need to win it to get out of our group."
