Liverpool U23s will begin the 2017-18 Premier League 2 season with a trip to face Swansea City on Friday August 11.

The game will be played at the Welsh outfit's Landore Training Ground and kick off at 7pm BST.

Neil Critchley will be in charge of the U23s this season following his step up from the U18s in the summer.

The young Reds are again set to play the majority of their home matches at Tranmere Rovers' Prenton Park - the first of which will see Sunderland provide the opposition on Sunday August 20.

Besides competing in Premier League 2, the young Reds will also take part in the Premier League Cup, and return to the UEFA Youth League should Liverpool reach the Champions League group stages.

Liverpool U23s also have the final of the Lancashire Cup against Fleetwood Town, which will be played on Friday September 1. This fixture was delayed from last season.
