See below to find out what’s new on eAcademy in July.

Legends Goal: Michael Owen vs Manchester United, 2001

We’ve added another Legends Goal to eAcademy this month, giving youngsters an opportunity to learn about the techniques required to score another iconic LFC goal.

This month, we look back to 2001 when Michael Owen was one of the leading forwards in the world. His goal against Manchester United at Anfield in the 2001/02 season was an important one, helping the Reds get one over their rivals with a 3-1 victory.

Owen’s goal is every bit a typical Michael Owen goal. He’s alert and on the move between defenders. Once Emile Heskey helps the ball through to him, he’s onto it in a flash before steadying himself and producing a fine curling effort beyond France goalkeeper Fabian Barthez and into the far corner of the net.

It was a great strike under-pressure and a brilliant example to youngsters who enjoy playing in forward positions, or who want to hone their finishing ability!

What’s Trending?

Our Trending section sees some videos from last month remain popular, not least Steven Gerrard’s Legends Goal from 2001. Also still attracting lots of views are the half-volley shooting technique and the outside, inside dribbling skill.

Joining those videos in Trending right now are four other videos. With many youngsters around the world re-joining their teams for pre-season right now, it’s no surprise that we see a real spike in the popularity of agility techniques.

Both Hopping and Sprinting off the Ball have been really popular in the last few weeks, an indication perhaps that the challenging pre-season fitness work has begun for many young players!

Also trending right now is the Drag and Push turning technique and Chest receiving skill.

More exciting content is just around the corner with eAcademy and we will be adding to our extensive library of exclusive LFC training tutorials again next month.
