LFC FoundationPep Lijnders inspires LFC Foundation participants
LFC men’s first team assistant manager, Pep Lijnders recently attended an LFC Foundation session to take part in an inspirational Q&A with the young participants.
The Q&A was hosted by LFC Foundation representative and former LFC goalkeeper, Chris Kirkland where Pep chatted about his career as an elite coach and his humble beginnings back in Holland.
He spoke in detail about developing your philosophy as a coach and how to plan sessions to bring these alive. Alongside this, Pep also signed copies of his book ‘Intensity’ and gave each participant a copy of it as a parting gift.
The participants were all former Kicks participants, a programme funded by the Premier League and Steve Morgan Foundation, who are looking to progress as football coaches.
PL Kicks Programme manager Tony Cosgrove said: "The opportunity for Pep Lijnders, the assistant manager of the first team, to come along for the first of these was unbelievable.
“The young people were given a great insight into the career of an elite coach and how he started out as a young coach himself back in Holland. Pep shared lots of experiences and guidance and tips that were all truly inspirational."
