Sadio Mane meets Foundation fundraising competition winners

A family of Reds fans enjoyed a special meet and greet with Sadio Mane at Anfield after winning an LFC Foundation fundraising competition.

Jimmy Hawkins, from Knoxville in the US, entered the global draw last season and as part of his grand prize, he and his family were treated to an unforgettable VIP experience with the club.

After spending the day with Mane, including a private tour of the stadium, a Q&A and a pitch-side kickabout, the family also attended the Reds’ 3-0 win over Bournemouth last Saturday.

“The entire day was unreal and so far beyond my expectations,” said Jimmy.

“We were also able to attend the Bournemouth game while we were over, which was amazing. Seeing everything up close and meeting Sadio as well was almost overwhelming - it was unreal. I still can’t believe it actually happened.

“I’ve followed LFC since 2006 - I watch every match on TV and we went to the pre-season games in Boston and Charlotte, but this was our first visit to Anfield.

“Sadio and the LFC Foundation team went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. I will be a supporter of Liverpool FC and LFC Foundation for life and will do as much as I can to contribute to and spread the word on the fantastic work they do.”

The competition aimed to raise vital funds for LFC Foundation, helping the club’s official charity to improve the lives of children and young people in Liverpool City Region and beyond.

Supporters who made a donation of $10 or more were entered into the draw, with additional special reward level prizes for those who pledged significant amounts.

LFC Foundation organises various fundraisers throughout the year to support its range of programmes and partnerships.

Tickets are now available for the third official LFC Foundation Legends match at Anfield on Saturday March 23.

The game will see the Liverpool FC Legends - including the likes of Jamie Carragher, Dirk Kuyt and Robbie Fowler - take on Milan Glorie, a side featuring names such as Kaka, Andrea Pirlo and Paolo Maldini.

Proceeds from the game will go to LFC Foundation with a proportion donated to AC Milan’s official charity, Fondazione Milan.

Tickets are priced at £22 for adults, £5 for juniors and £15 for over 65s. Tickets are available to purchase online only.

Hospitality starts from £70 per person - call 0151 264 2222 for details, or click here.
