LFC welcomes record number of guests to Anfield for annual Carol Service

Liverpool FC's community programme, Red Neighbours, welcomed over 400 guests from the local community to Anfield yesterday for its annual Carol Service.

Reds goalkeeper Danny Ward, club legend Alan Kennedy and LFC staff were joined by pupils and staff from 25 schools and community groups from the L4, 5 and 6 area.

The Voice Pop Choir, Notre Dame Catholic College Choir, and New Park Primary School Choir got everyone into the Christmas spirit with performances of some festive hymns, which were followed by two solo performances.

A number of thought provoking readings were also made by LFC staff and members of the local community including the Chair of the Hillsborough family support group, Margaret Aspinall.

Red Neighbours manager, Forbes Duff, said: “We were delighted to welcome members of the local community who we work so closely with all year round to our carol service to celebrate the end of a fantastic year.

"On behalf of the club I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the service and helped to make it such a lovely event."

The club's CEO, Peter Moore addressed guests with a festive message at the end of the service and thanked everyone for their attendance and participation.
