Paulo arrived at Liverpool in July 2011 after establishing a strong reputation for his extensive work at his sports clinic in Portugal.
During his eight years in the industry he has enjoyed a spell with Moreirense FC and also had a good relationship with the primary doctor of FC Braga, prior to making the move to Merseyside.
"Liverpool wanted a reference for a physiotherapist from the Mediterranean zone. We have a different approach to our job and Liverpool, like several clubs in the Barclays Premier League, have South Americans, Italians and Spaniards; players that have a different background to the ones who come from northern Europe.
"I was referred by the doctor at FC Braga to an agency back in Portugal and they submitted my resume to Liverpool.
"I'm so proud to be part of Liverpool FC. The club is amazing and I am loving it here."
Paulo has a degree in Physiotherapy and undertook a five-year course in Osteopathy. He also has a post-graduate degree in Sports Physiotherapy that he studied in Madrid.
"My role here sees me take my place as part of a five-man team of physiotherapists.
"Normally I work with players before and after training. It's usually based on injury prevention, injury assessment and rehabilitation."
