Stephen first arrived at the Liverpool Academy as a player in 1995 and was part of the Reds' youth set-up until 2001, when he moved to Second Division Port Vale.
During his time as a schoolboy at the club, Stephen attended the FA national school at Lilleshall and represented England, gaining eight international honours.
Over an 11-year career, he went on to play for a variety of professional and semi-professional football clubs including Port Vale, FC United of Manchester and Halifax before returning to Liverpool in September 2008 to coach the club's U9 players.
Since then, he has worked with the U15 boys and was appointed as a full-time Foundation coach. He is currently head of U9-11 age groups.
