Matt joined Liverpool in February 2009 as part of the physiotherapy department and is based in Kirkby.

He primarily works with the reserves, providing treatment, rehabilitation and pitchside assistance.

After graduating from Keele University in 2002, Matt began working in the NHS, though also accepted a part-time job providing physio at the Leeds United Academy.

From there he was offered a full-time position with Barnsley in 2005, where his time was shared between the academy and first-team. In 2008 he was promoted to work exclusively as first-team physio.

However, within a year the chance to join Liverpool arose. Matt soon became a key member of our reserve set-up and travels to games with the second string.

He uses his spare time to complete various professional qualifications, the latest being an Msc in rehabilitation.
