Czech centre-back Jakub Sokolik arrived at Anfield from Banik Ostrava in the 2009-10 season after being spotted by former Chief Scout Eduardo Macia.
He joined Banik Ostrava at the age of six and he is hoping one day to follow in the footsteps of Czech Republic Kop favourites Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer and Milan Baros and play for the first team.
Sokolik made his reserve team debut in the mini-derby against Everton. He produced an excellent display when he came up against Victor Anichebe.
During the 2011-12 season, despite suffering injury problems, Sokolik appeared for the U18s side in numerous fixtures and will now feature for the U21s. He has a fantastic attitude and willingness to learn.
Sokolik joined Southend United on loan on March 11, 2013.
