A talented attacker who originally hails from DR Congo, Mukendi arrived at the Academy in 2007.

Now a second year scholar with British citizenship, the teenager is equally happy playing as a traditional No.9 or in a wide left position.

The forward was not a regular starter in 2010-11 but came close to making one of the biggest contributions of the campaign when he struck a double to put the Reds 2-1 up in the final home match of the season against Wolves.

However, the visitors struck a late equaliser to snare a 2-2 draw and deny Liverpool the title.
