Just be ready for Newcastle. After international exertions, that game is going to be super tough for us. We'll need you to fill in. I'd be surprised if you don't start ahead of Lucas. I'm expecting some changes in that match, so be prepared Allen.

"Actually, I'd quite like to see Henderson sit in the deeper position and have Allen in Gerrard's position. The midfield could do with a freshen up especially after the internationals. Bring Gerrard in the advanced mid role for Moses maybe in the last 30 mins?"

"I don't think we need to be telling Joe what to do like he's an underperforming kid at school. However, a mere observation is that he was a menace in a more advanced role and I wonder whether he's got quite a few goals in him - try him in advanced roles I think."

"He's just coming off injury and starts training on Tuesday. And some of you suggest he's gonna start the next game. That's just ridiculous!"

"kopkillah - You serious ? Gerrard couldn't offer the same movement as Moses and just couldn't be anywhere near as effective in that position. "

"Forget about playing here. It does not matter if you are available for selection. Gerrard is guaranteed to start based on his reputation. Start searching for a new club like what Shelvey did. This is Gerrard Football Club and there is nothing you can do about it."

"Scousemorals...yes Allen needs to be further up the park. That is his best position, and only for Lucas getting injured he probably would have held that position well. He will really get us pressing and winning the ball back quickly in dangerous areas, will play quick short interchanges with our other forward players and will get in the box."

"Joe Allen is a very average player at his very best, he will never be better, he's just one of those type of players. He'll never ever be world class, maybe not even top EPL player. He skips about like a little pixie, little Peter Pan type of figure, compared to Souness and Steve McMahon he's so lightweight and frail...not good enough for LFC. Should have kept Jonjo. "

"I hope the Newcastle game will come 2 soon 4 Allen as we need 2 keep the same line up from the last game with Henderson in the middle with Stevie G. And as for Allen i still can't c him being a LFC player even if he played 4 the next 100 years "

"Pssk. Lucas is a guaranteed starter. Allen is the sort of player you bring on in the 89th min in order to waste a couple of seconds"

"GOOD TO SEE JOE ALLEN EDGING NEARER TO FULL FITNESS. HOPEFULLY WE SEE THE JOE ALLEN OF LAST AUGUST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I RECALL SEVERAL PUNDITS RAVING ABOUT HIS IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCES BACK THEN. COME ON JOE, PROVE YOUR CRITICS WRONG."

"AN ARTICLE NOT SO LONG AGO IN THE LIVERPOOL ECHO HIGHLIGHTED THE FOLLOWING STATS ; JOE ALLEN'S LONG PASS SUCCESS RATE WAS THE 2ND BEST IN THE LEAGUE AT 89.66% AND HIS OPEN PLAY PASS COMPLETION WAS 90%, WELL ABOVE THE PREMIER LEAGUE AVERAGE. NOT BAD CONSIDERING JOE'S DIP IN FORM. "

"Been one of Joes worst critics, but with our present poor, static, and unable to retain the ball midfield, I actually reckon he could come back into the side and improve it and ill happily eat humble pie. "
