Another example of the excellent leadership and management of BR!

"It seems that the off field problems of big money and lots of attention are what his former mentor thinks may affect raheem. This is why he was held back a bit from first team football by kk and by br. It is a challenge for br to get the balance right and so far he has used both carrot and stick, a good approach. "

""I think the manager has probably managed him quite well," - hardly high praise. I don't see how this qualifies as "excellent leadership" as described by Daxalea... "

"I'm confident that BR knows how to develop his young players (look at some that made it under him at Swansea for a start) but only time will tell whether his development at Liverpool will be successful or not. Sterling had a great debut season but I'm wary of heeping too much pressure and expectation on him at such a young age."

"Sterling's faltering mid-season form would also have a lot to do with him being 18 years old & falsely accused of assaulting a female. Couple this with the pressure heaped on him by us fans, you have to have a good management team in charge to get he best from him & keep his feet on the ground. Thanks to Rafa, KD & BR for giving the lad a chance."

"Its good that BR didnt over play him and dropped him towards the end just to keep his feet on the ground..Far too easy for young players to become complacent due to the belief that they have already made it. Next season is where he will have to step up his game imo "

"RedRoadsey - BR brought Sterling into the team, got the best out of Sterling and managed his atude. BR showed restraint when Sterling showed the first signs of dipping in form. All this and he has kept morale up in the team and Sterling onboard. Leadership."

"Yeah I do not believe it is all BR doing, that would be absurd to think that. Credit needs to go to the youth coach, reserve coach, KD for giving him a taste of the first team to BR giving him an extended run. "

"Simpson2 - Totally agree. Sterling was burnt out before finally being dropped. The lad has talent, but has a long way to go before he's a top player, he's still learning to kick the ball! The more games the better, but not in LFC 1st team, get the lad a loan spell"

"good luck for the coming season raheem. hope you stay fit and improve your strength so you wont be pushed off the ball. your pace will scare defenders but you need an end product. im sure you can improve on last season. age is on your side. YNWA J4T96 "

"Sterling had a greater season than Downing had in his 1st season n Downing cost us £20m.Rodgers almost had no choice than to play Sterling.Delima was playing week in week out at 17. If he has a 6th of Delima's career I would be happy. Many peeps wanted him to b playd n nw some are complaining he was overplayed. We simply had no better alternatives."

"I think it is fair to say he has been managed quite well. He was played a little bit more at the early part of the season but that is basically because we had a thin squad. I hope he keeps growing and prospering in a red shirt. I believe he has the ingredients to be a world beater. YNWA Sterling."

"I.M.O, I think Liverpool wanted to keep him and did not want to lose out like we did with Ince. owners and chairman probably told BR to keep Raheem at anfield as his contract was about to expire, so he game him 1st team footy, so that he can think he will be a regular, and what happened? Raheem signed new deal and was dropped! hahahah but he will get better tho"

"Its my honest opinion that Jordan Ibe will be a bigger threat than young Raheem ,Ibe is going to be a powerful lad & very quick he could strike-up a lethal partnership with Sturridge.Fingers x`d anyhow."

"I'm not sure he will ever be great, Shaun Wright Phillips quality maybe, Pennant with more pace maybe. Ibe I think is going to be a good player, I think he will be like Iker Muniain, creative and versatile with an eye for goal."

"Watched Ibe on his first team debut at Wycombe Wanders at 15yrs old, scored a great goal. This boy is going to be a nightmare for defenders. Raheem is going to be a better version of Aaron Lennon because he is not so predictable, he can use both feet......"
