Rest peacefully, Mr Strong. I first heard about this player not an hour ago when reading the 100PWSTK feature, and I wondered if he was still alive. Wow. Condolences to his family and friends.

"Saw him play many times and it's hard to estimate the value of his versatility. Very important member of Shanks team of the 60's. If only players nowadays were as loyal to their clubs. RIP Geoff Strong, you never wlaked alone."

"I'm 61 now and have been a reds supporter all my life. I will remember Geoff as Carra would say " a whole hearted lad who had a go". He was in integral piece of Shanks' first rebuild and fitted into the side alongside the likes of Billy Stevenson and Tommy Smith and was equally adept at creation as destruction.A great Red. R.I.P. Geoff Strong "

"I was Geoff's carer for three years. His favourite moment was scoring against Celtic in the semi final of the Cup Winners Cup in 1965. He was a season ticket holder at Anfield until a couple of years ago. His loyalty to the club was exceptional. I hope that the media give him the coverage he deserves and that he will never be forgotten by the Liverpool fans. "
