that role will be a priority to fulfil next summer and I think Ben Arfa would fit the bill perfectly, but there will be many aspects to take in consideration prior to try to get him, nonetheless the price tag which can be prohibitive for our possibilities, anyway he's an option we have to sieve.

"I don't think a signing like this would be considered a ''priority signing'' although it would be more of a ''bulking up the squad with relative experience signing''. We have an ace card in that Newcastle want Andy Carroll, they don't have the cash to buy him out-right. Bargaining can be done."

"Didn't Ben Arfa fail a medical at LFC before nipping across the Pennines to try his luck at NUFC? He seems to be very injury prone, and has far from lived up to expectations this season when he has played. Think his agent is talking this one up."

"Ben Arfa and Senchez play the same role so I wonder will we get any of them knowing the way things go now we will drag our heels in and then some other club will snatch them."

"Anyone commenting on Ben Arfa's time out with injuries shouldn't be worried.Agger was out a hell of a lot til the start of this season.G.Bale had an awful injury record ubtil the start of last season.Unfortunately some players have "groups" of injuries but eventually get through them."

"Nope - not a luxury. You can't have too many players of his calibre. He could fill several advanced roles with near-equal ease. Bring him in."

"Not a 'priority singing' but interesting indeed! He may fit quite handsomely into the team by the speed of his playing."

"Over the next 2-3 transfer windows I'd like to see us build from back to front. 2 CB's, cover at LB, a strong, quality CM, another goalscorer and possibly another flair player, in that order. Ben Arfa might just about fit the latter category but it's not the priority for me, especially given his injury record and the fact the Geordies play hardball over fees - even if they want Carroll. "

"Great player at Newcastle, but so was Andy. Will he be Injury prone? Perhaps if we sold Allen, Borini and Shelvey we mght be able to find a third of Newcastles asking price. Cant help feeling this is an easy option when scouts should be doing their job and get budding "Bens" "
