Put him on a player/coach contract. His mentality and ability to read the game doesn't come around often and his experience will really rub off on our defenders. If it weren't for lacking pace he'd still be first choice CB. Agger and Skrtel are both fine CBs but seem to lack Carra's defensive organisation.
"Carra showed Sunday he's still got it and will be a good influence with all the youngsters coming through. Always been a fan of Sturridge and know we'll be able to fit him into a fluid attacking formation as he has the pace, sharpest and intelligence to be a success. YNWA"
"think that Carra has yet understood if he can still prolong his career or not. Any LFC supporter would want he wore this shirt for many years, but a top professional as him knows when it's time to say stop! of course I hope he will stay with us at least in a Academy role or in the coaching staff, but I am sure BR will insist to make him change idea YNWA Carra Legend"
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes to Carra signing a new deal and yes to Daniel Sturridge becoming a top player with Liverpool. The future is RED! Scouse RED! YNWA!
"
"We cannot allow Carragher to end his career in flippin' China or Qatar or whatever. He's a bonafied legend and he should end his career at home, with us. Absolutely agree about the coaching role once he does retire as well."
"Structure of LFC going forward
TEAM MANAGER + NO.2
Fowler - striker coach
Carra - defensive coach
SG- midfield coach
Pepe- goal keeping coach
Push the to get their badges and implement within 3 years. My vision.
"
"The one thing that you no you get with carra is safety first, he'll pass back to pepe if under any pressure. If your defending in a big game then you want carra out, but if your chasing a game carra offers nothing, always will be a legend though. YNWA "
"And also let the 23 Carrager shirt hang on the Anfield walls on display, and in honor of this great Liverpool player - the No . 23 never to be used again!"
"forget about all this talk about retiring, you are still the best c.b. on the books. great idea about offering him a Player/coach contract. we should have done that for Sami. And lost out there"
"Great servant and one of the clubs underated greats. Deserves all the accolades he gets and have loved his atude over the years I have watched him. Istanbul second hald summed his game and atude for me. Unfortunately he has slowed down and when he plays he drops so far back the opposition can come onto us. "
"Maldini was over 40 when he retired and he was hardly Usain Bolt. What he did have as a player was great positional sense, which made made up for any deficiencies in speed. Similarly, Jamie's got that ability to read a game. He's played in front of the back four too, a quality of his which is currently overlooked. You just can't buy his amount of defensive experience. It's invaluable."
"When Carra was at his peak and was regarded one of the finest centre halfs in Europe he still had doubters. Defenders like 'smackhead Rio' and others could bring the ball out and distribute, had athleticism and may contribute with the odd goal. Carra is/was old skool, he rarely made mistakes- Drogba, Henry, Rooney or whoever he was marking would generally not get a sniff. "
"Carra has played 20 games this season and bar 1 game in League Cup he has generally been the best defender. Too soon for Carra to quit. A good defender anticipates danger and gets himself in positions that won't leave them exposed. Carra along with maybe Terry are the finest defenders at reading the game in the Prem."
"We defo miss Carra's leadership at the back - he still has a lot to offer imo. His reading of the game can make up for his loss of pace. His self disciplne is amazing. "
"Totally agree Jamie needs to sign another contract, and I also believe BR should play him in Midfield in the tough games, example he would have been brilliant against Stoke, he wouldn't let those players push him around, he would have been a far better choice than Suso, although I do believe Suso will come good as well."
