"Very true. A good player still, but with younger players coming through and his wages being high he was always going. Good luck and thanks Joe!"

"It makes good business sense to cut losses. Joe had his chances under Hodgson, KD. Some players just don't make it at certain clubs no matter how good they are. Good luck to Joe Cole. He tried but didn't work out!!"

"Another waste of a good player, someone who was never given a decent opportunity, but more to the point, another financial fiasco! Robbie Keene, Carroll, Adam, & now Ince, someone in the boardroom needs a good slap for all the money being wasted!! "

"Agree with Brendan! I think it's been the right choice for Joe come back where he belongs, where he can still have incentive, motivations and foremost play a bit more! I wish Joe a brilliant final of his career, he would deserve it! Best of luck for all Joe! YNWA Joe Cole"

"We needed rid of him.It is embaressing to have a squad player of limted ability being paid 90 grand a week he must have been rubbing his hands together."

"Best move for Joe, £3 million pay off and then starts on new ridiculous wage next week. Nice lad but pardon me if that sticks in the throat slightly."

"THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW 'FREE TRANSFER' ACTUALLY MEANS LFC THINK YOUR WAGE BILL IS NOT FITTING FOR YOUR VALUE, THIS SAVES £250,000 A WEEK FOR LFC TO LET GO AN 'INEFFECTIVE' PLAYER!!!!!!"

"BR may have the reputation of being a quiet Ulsterman but does anybody really doubt who's in charge at Anfield? His ruthless side is there for all to see as he strives to make LFC the best team in Europe once again. Joe Cole's exit may have been sugar coated and appropriate plaudes offered but when BR says "it's time to go" then my friends it's time to go! YNWA"

"I think Liverpool should sign Paco Montanes. He is a great footballer playing for Zaragoza in Spain. He is right-footed, but plays as a left winger. He is the best in his team, and has scored sebveral goals this season. He is worth around 1 million pounds, which is quite good. I leave you a fantastic goal from him: .youtube.com/watch?v=yTvVdvm1PmM What do you think about it?"

"We've now sent two of our best three players to west ham. When is Suarez going to them?? Joe Cole was perfect for BR's so called "philosophy" football, so why let go him go - he was never given a chance at LFC. Sure at least that's his wages off the bill, which seems to be the only motivation!!! "
