his a fairly good player, but he is not worth 15 mio and he is not what LFC needs. He is to simular to Suarez. We need Huntelaar or Lloriente - a strong targetman in the box, who scores goals..
"I think he would do nicely on the right side for us can be a tad greedy at times but me personally I think that's what we need a bit more of in attack instead of trying to feed Suarez someone else that will take players on get shots on target and get in the box also when balls come in from the left. Tom ince? Couldn't cut it before so what's changed? No thanks to that one."
"Sturridge would be a good addition to our squad, but is not the goal scorer we need. He misses easy chances and should have got a hat-trick against West Brom.My guess is Rodgers knows how to improve Sturridge, but i think we need a proven player."
"agree molby he worth 10 milion also id rather have tom ince he is better quality at 5 million. why we sold him on a free i dont no he is tearing up championship
rather have huntalaar or villa "
"Happy with Sturridge can play any where along the front three. Would prefer Walcott we will see, ragheem Suarez Sturridge front three looks good for the future"
"I say that it's not what we need despite he's an absolute talent. We need a right pegged winger who can play between the lines or wide right as the likes of Teixeria, Mertens and Walcott and a centre forward as the likes of Huntelaar, Demba Ba and Bony. Sturridge could be just a backup for Luis Suarez not a player to be lined up along him!"
"Could be a good addition to the squad alright but we need more, hes a bit hot and cold, huntelaar as well and would be very interesting for rest of season, cant wait to see what happens!"
"Why not gamble on Torres who is used to playing for Liverpool? Why should LFC Gamble on a greedy, self-centered forward? He wastes glorious chances and he does not even know when to pass and when to shoot - the basics."
"I'm pretty sure Brendan knows what to do to help Torres. On top of that, his goal-scoring instinct would place him at the end of passes from Gerrard, Sterling, Suarez and all other players on the pitch. "
"I totally agree with Molby11.
Honestly, why is manager after manager making the same mistake about strikers. We want a world class striker that can put the ball in the back of the net. If we had one we will be near the top of the table this season."
"Nando coming back would be a DREAM, I would love it but it all depends on money, wages etil we can get ourselves back in the CL theres a big financial risk. STurridge is OK, i'm not opposed to hit. I trust Brendan to be shrewd and smart in the window"
"Just a quick question, when people are saying bring in a goal poacher like Huntellar or whoever, where is Suarez going to play then? will he b out wide of a 3,which means he will b dropping very deep at times taking him away from goal where he is most dangerous.Suarez is showing that he is a goalscorer so maybe it would b better to.. cont "
"get a fast winger/forward who is also capable of chipping in with goals too and maybe a striker who does not cost too much money for the bench that can come on during a game..YNWA"
"A big NO. He is not good enough for Liverpool not to talk of the money involved. On this same site, we screamed for Mata and Carzola rather Downing and Henderson were bought instead. We are today screaming for Huntelaar and Sturridge is being linked. Let's not repeat the mistakes of King Kenny again. YNWA"
"Sturridge would be an excellent addition for the right price, say 10-12m. He is quick, two good feet, immensely skilled and will score hatfuls of goals in a different system and not surrounded by ego laden primadonnas. Remember he's still a kid."
"please dont take ma love away from liverpool..not him,,not a team player,,such a selfish player and he never raise his head for assists,,he only wants to be on the headlines of being a hero nothing else..."
"FACT 1- BR only looks at players he has worked with before - F.Borini, J.Allen, NOW proposing D. Sturridge (Chelsea), A. Pearce (on the Bench at Reading!) FACT 2. The Sturridge deal is Chelsea's pay back plot to LFC for the Torres flop worth £50m"
"Sammiyounger we did scream for those players and didn't get them however we also spent all summer screaming for Gaston Ramirez and some for Aqualani to stay both would have been very bad moves lets see what actually happens"
"I hope we're not let down again with substandard signings, window by window, we need to purchace established PROVEN quality than WILL deliver, WILL score goals, why not Cavani? LLorente? Huntelaar? Van Wolfswinkel? Toivenon? Torres?"
"Daniel sturridge fits our transfer policy, young-British - expensive -and -rubbish. Stop buying Chelsea's rejected. How small his B Rogers horizon, can't hi see further than Chelsea and Swansea "
"As has been pointed out before on this site, and not only by me, maybe LFC should be looking overseas for striking options. My favourite name is Wilfred Bony, dubbed the new Didier Drogba. Young, fast and very strong. Also a lot cheaper; between 8 and 10 million."
""15 millions for this player... is lfc staff crazy... we haven't learned from our mistake... buying average for high price and wanting top team.... average players = average team... with good coach, we can expect to be in the top 6 but never we will be in the top 4.....""
"Where in this topic has there been a mention of 15 mil for Sturridge, because I have read it over and I can't see it printed?
And as for Daniel Sturridge being English crap? No more crap than what is on the other side of the channel, let's face it we've had quite a few primadonnas that haven't made it at this club, so keep your snide remarks to your foreign selves."
"Here we go again. Another big mistake if we sign him. He isn't a proven goalscorer. What has he done to have such a price tag. Again overrated. We need proper goalscorers. Llorente or Huntelaar evn Torres if he is willing to come back we need goalscorers in the team..."
"YOU CAN THROW MESSI, RONALD0 OR DAVID VILLA IN THE HAT IF YOU LIKE. BUT IF THEY AREN'T AVAILABLE YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT WHO IS. STURRIDGE IS 23, SO IS STILL A YOUNG PLAYER WHO HAS PLAYED FOR CLUB AND COUNTRY AT THE TOP LEVEL. IF HE COMES TO ANFIELD HE WILL CHIP IN WITH GOALS FOR SURE. "
"scotty78ynwa have u seen tom ince since he left he may be at blackpool but he is doing well. why did we put him in a swap deal for charlie adam? bit risky if you ask me he is young energetic nd quite skillful. YNWA tom"
"Chairman Tom Werner said after Saturday's 3-0 victory over Wigan it was Liverpool's 'intention to strengthen' in the forthcoming window. Sturridge ???"
"no we dont need a targetman...we dont play that kind of football anymore and thank god for that..no more long balls...we need a one more goal scorer .... "
