What a mentor to have in GARY Mac. An inspired signing by Houllier. Stevie is equal with Kenny as my all time Red. It maybe an age thing (36) but I have grown up more with Stevie and he has brought me the most joy. Staggering some of his achievements in taking the game by the scruff of the neck and bringing triumph from adversity.

"What a great testimony of graude and estimation you did to Stevie, Gary! Just few months to train and play with him and you started to foresee the talent and the potential of this future Legend! We did not need a talent scout to understand that! YNWA Gary Mac & Stevie G"

"Has to be Kenny for me given his record of achievement but Stevie is right up there with anyone at LFC"

"I was around for Kenny and his achievements were fantastic, but it has to be Stevie for me as he has been the most inspirational player I have ever seen. He hasn't had the players around him that Kenny had, and he has won us the best trophy ever in 2005..."

"With All due Respect to Stevie who IS still a world class player and Kenny who was a world class player. I think people have forgotten another un heralded player from our past and He is the Clubs record appearance holder Ian Callaghan as he played in excess of 800 games for us and we never hear anything about him which I think is a shame."

"Because He went about his Business quietly and didn't score as many goals as Stevie or Kenny we've ALL forgotten about him and I think we should all Remember him as He was a Total out and out Class Player for Liverpool. So please don't keep on about the Goalscorers we had in the past as we've had many, many good other players that didn't score as many. YNWA REDS"

"Another fact of Ian Callaghan. He was only booked once in his total playing career so was never sent off. An amazing stat by today's standard in the days when players took no prisoners like Tommy Smith and Norman Hunter."
