Liverpool FC have today released new artist impressions showing the state-of-the-art facilities that fans can look forward to when the expanded Main Stand opens next season.
The latest visuals showcase the plans for two new concourses, which will be the biggest at Anfield and will provide space for supporters to gather together and enjoy modern facilities before the game. The concourses will be open to all fans with a ticket for the Main Stand.
The spaces have been specially designed to celebrate Liverpool fans and their passion for the club, with artwork taking inspiration from the scarves and flags held high when the Reds play.
The colour scheme and materials have been inspired by Anfield’s architecture and the city of Liverpool’s industrial and maritime heritage. Throughout the concourses, wall graphics reflect the history of the club, with lettering used in the style of old matchday programmes.
Another unique feature is the historic Main Stand boundary wall, built even before football was played at Anfield, which will be recognised in its original location through a permanent tribute.
A central seating area for fans will tell the story of the Main Stand – with some of the original 1906 seating to be incorporated into the area, creating a permanent reference to the existing stand.
Fans can also look forward to TV screens fitted throughout the large social areas that will allow supporters to enjoy matchday content before the game.
The expanded Main Stand is on target for completion later this year, comprising three tiers, a widened player tunnel, new team benches, media platform, wheelchair viewing positions and state-of-the-art facilities for fans inside.
