LFCTV has launched a new, original documentary to mark the 40th anniversary of Liverpool's famous 5-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

Rush Scored Four takes viewers back to the Merseyside derby of November 6, 1982, when the Reds recorded their biggest ever away win against the Blues.

The documentary premiered on Saturday and includes first-hand interviews mixed with archive footage, including recollections from four-goal Ian Rush and fellow scorer Mark Lawrenson.

Former Liverpool midfielder Steve McMahon, who played for Everton that day, also appears alongside BBC Radio Merseyside commentator Charlie Lambert and supporter Stevie Metcalf, who watched on from the stands.

Reigning champions Liverpool were led for the last time in a Goodison derby by Bob Paisley and master marksman Rush’s display that afternoon is etched indelibly into LFC folklore.

Indeed, ‘Rush scored four’ is still proudly and regularly sung by Reds supporters to this day.

With a total of 346 goals to his name, Rush remains Liverpool’s record goalscorer and no other Reds player has surpassed the 25 goals he netted against Everton.
