Liverpool target Victor Valdes will not be joining Monaco after the Ligue 1 side withdrew their contract offer for the Barcelona keeper, according to L'Equipe.
Monaco had looked set to sign the Spain international after making contact with the player, whose contract expires at the end of the month.
However, the French club have now reportedly pulled out of the deal over concerns with Valdes' fitness.
The 32-year-old tore his anterior cruciate ligamet in April, causing him to miss the end of last season and most likely the first few months of the forthcoming one.
This has prompted Monaco to pull the plug on any possible deal, aware that Valdes may not return to action until November.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will now take a gamble on his fitness and bring him to Anfield during the summer.
