AC Milan will move for Liverpool target Luis Muriel if former Manchester City hitman Mario Balotelli departs the San Siro summer, according to sources in Italy.
Balotelli, who ended his controversial spell at City in January 2013, has already been touted for a return to England following Milan's domestic struggles this term.
Clarence Seedorf's side are currently 12th in Serie A.
And if the Italy international moves on, with Chelsea and Tottenham reportedly waiting in the wings, Milan will focus their efforts on trying to sign Muriel.
The 22-year-old has had a difficult season at Udinese amid speculation of a rift with manager Francesco Guidolin and his future is unclear.
The Colombia forward, who has scored one goal in five outings at international level, has also been monitored by Liverpool, who would have to fork out around £15m to land him.
