Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are all locked in a battle to clinch the signing of Real Betis midfielder Benat.
Benat, 25, has been earning rave reviews in Spain and has also attracted interest from Spartak Moscow and Wolfsburg.
The talented midfielder is rated as one of the best players in La Liga and looks certain to make a big money move in 2013.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been strongly linked with his signature in the past while Manchester City are also considering a move in January.
Spanish newspaper AS also claims that Tottenham have been monitoring his progress and the north London club could make an offer next month if they miss out on Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
Real Betis will not want to see one of their star performers leave the club but they are prepared for a bidding war to take place when the transfer window re-opens.
