talkSPORT: Clubs in race for Barca ace

Lazio are ready to battle Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool for the signature of Holland winger Ibrahim Afellay in the summer.

The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at Schalke 04 from Barcelona, is likely to be available at the end of the season after the German side confirmed they wouldn't be extending his stay at the club.

The Dutchman moved to Barcelona from PSV in 2011 but struggled to make an impact at the Nou Camp.

He also been a peripheral figure at Schalke, managing just 11 starts in all competitions.

But he is still highly rated on the continent, with reports in Italy suggesting the European trio of Lazio, Inter and Lyon will tussle for his services when he seeks his next move.

I think he is hardly an ace if he is struggling to make a mark in Spain and Germany.
