Atletico Madrid are desperate to agree a new contract with Adrian to ward off interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool.
The winger has impressed at Atletico since joining the club from Deportivo in 2011 and has caught the eye of a number of Premier League sides.
And the Premier League clubs have been encouraged by the fact Adrian has a £14.4m buy-out clause in his contract.
Atletico are desperate to remove that clause, and are set to offer Adrian a new, extended deal on higher wages.
That could end hopes of the player moving to England, but Adrian has so far made no commitment that he will sign the new deal - although he has said in the past he is happy at the Spanish title contenders.
