Lazar Markovic is due on Merseyside in the next 48 hours to complete his £19.8million move to Liverpool.
Markovic, 20, is flying in for his medical and to sign after Liverpool activated his buy-out clause at Benfica.
The Serbian international winger could arrive as early as tomorrow, although it is more likely he will jet in on Thursday.
It is believed the Reds have agreed in principle terms on a four-year deal with Markovic.
Markovic, who also attracted interest from Chelsea, will become Liverpool's fourth summer signing, taking boss Brendan Rodgers' spending to £58million.
With a Champions League campaign on the horizon, the Reds have raided Southampton for striker Rickie Lambert and midfielder Adam Lallana, and added Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can.
They are also close to a deal for Lille forward Divock Origi, although the young Belgian may be loaned back to the French club for next season.
