Mirror: Reds target Barcelona winger

Liverpool have made a move to sign Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez.

Barca coach Tito Vilanova does not want to part with the Chilean star in the January window, but the Reds have refused to give up.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has been checking on Sanchez's form and situation, as it is believed Barca may be willing to sell in the summer.

Liverpool have asked to be kept in the loop.

Having initially made an enquiry about a loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer, they now have hopes of sealing a straight-cash deal.
