Liverpool have finally made an approach to QPR for Loic Remy.
The Hoops have confirmed to Mirror Sport that they are in talks with the Anfield club over the 27-year France striker.
Remy - who scored 14 goals in 26 games on loan at Newcastle last season - has a well-documented £8.5million clause in his contract which applies only to clubs in the top four.
The Reds have moved for Remy as Swansea will not budge on their demand that clubs keen on their striker Wilfried Bony will have to trigger his £19million release clause.
Spurs pulled out of the race to sign Remy on Thursday night after his advisers made it clear that he wants to play in the Champions League next season.
Newcastle and West Ham both pulled out of the chase for the striker several weeks ago as teams outside the top six are required to pay £15million for him.
