Liverpool are closing in on Alberto Moreno's £16million move from Sevilla after the defender was left out of Spain's World Cup squad.
Moreno's exclusion means there are no obstacles to completing the deal and Sevilla have told Liverpool they want a straight cash deal of an initial £16.2million.
Sevilla are prepared to cash in on their coveted left-back and Moreno is understood to be keen to move to Anfield.
Talks between Liverpool and Sevilla will be stepped up this week and Brendan Rodgers is confident of landing his first-choice target at left-back within days.
