Simon Mignolet claims he is up for the challenge for fighting Pepe Reina for Liverpool's No.1 spot.
Brendan Rodgers has brought Mignolet in from Sunderland in a £9million move to compete with the Spaniard and he is relishing the fight.
"Brendan Rodgers has talked to me about it, but that is not something that has to go outside the club," said the Belgian international goalkeeper.
"Competition is something I have had at every single club.
"I had competition back in Belgium and I had it at Sunderland with Kieren Westwood and Craig Gordon.
"I also have competition in the Belgian national side. That does not change and when you come to a bigger club, there are going to be fights for places, especially with the goalkeepers because only one can play.
"It's a challenge that can make you better and stronger and I will just try and do my best.
"I will work hard and if I get a chance, I will show that I should be there."
