Liverpool are set to seal a two-year loan deal for Atletico Madrid right-back Javier Manquillo.
The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to Arsenal but the Reds have seemingly beaten them to his signature.
There is also said to be an option included for a £6million permanent deal.
The Gunners were very keen but with Mathieu Debuchy arriving last week Manquillo has chosen Anfield where he sees a better chance of first-team football.
Manquillo remains highly rated at the Vicente Calderon but with Spanish international Juanfran firmly established as Diego Simeone's number one they have sanctioned a move away.
They hope getting some much-needed first team minutes under his belt will see him come on leaps and bounds.
The Spanish U20 international is yet to make a senior appearance for La Roja but is seen as one of the rising stars of the game in La Liga.
