Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing is set to join Leicester City's promotion push by signing on loan until the end of the season.

Foxes boss Nigel Pearson is expected to complete the signing of the Reds reserve team skipper on Tuesday which will bolster his midfield and for the 21-year-old it is an opportunity to land some much needed first-team football. 

After making his first-team debut in December 2008, against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, Spearing has found first team opportunities rare at Anfield and will be looking to make an impression at the Walkers Stadium.
