Liverpool are believed to be targeting a fourth Southampton player this summer, with reports suggesting Brendan Rodgers is lining up a move for Jay Rodriguez.
The Reds have already signed Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert from the south coast club and have reportedly had a £20m move for defender Dejan Lovren rejected in the past couple of weeks.
And despite Saints boss Ronald Koeman insisting no more of his players are for sale this summer - having also lost Luke Shaw to Manchester United - Liverpool are rumoured to be keen on Rodriguez.
The striker enjoyed a fine season for Southampton last term and was in line for a place in Roy Hodgson's World Cup squad before an injury against Manchester City scuppered his hopes.
But Liverpool were impressed enough to list him among their targets this summer and could now move for Rodriguez, with the price for Swansea's Wilfried Bony creeping up.
The Swans are now said to be demanding in excess of £19m for the Ivorian, who is also wanted by Tottenham, and despite the £75m windfall from the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, Rodgers won't spend money needlessly and sees Rodriguez as a cheaper alternative.
