Liverpool have held talks with former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes about a shock move to Anfield on transfer deadline day.
The Reds have been looking for a quality goalie to rival first-choice Simon Mignolet, and have been in talks with both Sampdoria's Sergio Romero and Reading's Alex McCarthy.
However, reports now say that former Barca man Valdes is the player Liverpool want with contact being made over a deal.
Brendan Rodgers has time on his side with Valdes being a free agent, meaning the deal can happen outside the deadline, but it's thought that he wants all his business done quickly.
The 32-year-old had looked set to join Monaco earlier this summer before picking up a serious injury.
